Flu shots will be available at all Tarrant County Public Health Centers beginning Oct. 1, and residents are encouraged to make plans to get a flu shot to protect themselves and others.

“Getting a seasonal flu shot is the best way to guard against seasonal flu,” said Dr. Sandra Parker, Tarrant County Public Health’s medical director and health authority. “Each year, seasonal flu kills an estimated 36,000 people in the United States and hospitalizes more than 200,000.”

Seasonal flu shots are available at the following locations:

* Arlington Public Health Center; 817-548-3990; 536 W. Randol Mill Road; Arlington, TX 76011

* Bagsby-Williams Public Health Center; 817-531-6738; 3212 Miller Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76119

* Northeast Public Health Center; 817-285-4155; 813 Brown Trail, Bedford, TX 76022

* Northwest Public Health Center; 817-238-4441; 3800 Adam Grubb Road, Lake Worth, TX 76135

* Watauga Public Health Center; 817-514-5030; 6601 Watauga Road, Suite 122, Watauga, TX 76148
