UT Dallas presents The Great Eastern Sun Trilogy on October 23

The School of Arts and Humanities at The University of Texas at Dallas presents The Great Eastern Sun Trilogy at 8 p.m., Fri, Oct. 23, in University Theatre. This evening of adaptations features Frederick Curchack and frequent collaborator Laura Jorgensen.
Noh – Angels, Demons & Dreamers provides adaptations of supernatural Japanese Noh plays, poetic dance-dramas from 14th and 15th century Japan, and Kyogen, outrageous comic interludes performed between intense Noh.
Monkey: The Quest to the West brings a theatrical adaptation of a Chinese novel, The Journey to the West, which follows the supernatural trickster monkey king who makes war with heaven until he is imprisoned under a mountain by Buddha.
Milarepa is adapted from classic Tibetan Buddhist texts, The Life of Milarepa and The Hundred Thousand Songs of Milarepa, and is performed with theater, dance, shadow art, and blues, rap, and rock songs.
