Theatre off the Square in Weatherford to present Bats in the Belfry
Theatre Off the Square presents Bats in the Belfry by Angela Randazzo, courtesy of Dramatic Publishing Company and directed by Karen Dohoney. The show begins Friday, October 9 and runs weekends through October 25.
It’s Halloween in Brooklyn, N.Y., and the four instructors of the Ogilby Conservatory of Music are planning for their usual over-the-top celebration. Sweet and motherly Miss Pennyfeather, Miss Appley, Miss Fitchett, and Miss Moffit also happen to be witches.
There are some surprise guests. First there is Pam, their adopted daughter who arrives from boarding school to announce she is engaged and introduces her fiancé, Oliver. His parents also happen to be in town from Boston and will met their future daughter-in-law’s family. Then there is the mysterious invisible warlock Mr. Ogilsby. But will he remain invisible?
Members of the cast include Laurie Jones, Kathy Manning, Gayle Elleven, and Jamie Forman. Others in the cast are Nikki Hinson, Jake Shanahan, Sher Godlsborough, and Pat Dohoney.
This is a magical comedy for the entire family. Children are encouraged to wear costumes, and staff will have candy treats for them after the show. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Sunday Matinees are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance at Weatherford Chamber of Commerce and Weatherford Senior Center. Prices at the door are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and matinee tickets for $9. Season tickets are on sale at the box office.
