Arlington to host weekly farmers market every Friday through December 18
Fresh produce, homemade goods, herbs, cheeses, organic products, and a mix of local vendors.
ARLINGTON The Downtown Arlington Management Corporation has a new option: a weekly Farmers Market featuring fresh produce and homemade goods, herbs, cheeses, organic products, and a mix of local vendors promoting healthy, locally-produced foods.
“We’ve got several fresh produce farmers joining us early each Friday, selling from 9 a.m. until after lunch. We’ve been very pleased with the response from vendors and the community,” according to Maggie Campbell, president of the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation, organizers of the market. This new Friday Farmers Market is made possible through sponsorships from the City of Arlington, UT Arlington Dining Services, Innovative Signs, and Home Depot. The building was donated by former Arlington City Council member Joe Bruner.
“Home Depot and Innovative Sign Company are helping us this week transform an old radiator shop downtown that was donated by the property owner for this purpose, sort of an extreme building makeover,” Campbell said. The new weekly Farmers Market starts this Friday on a closed block of Front Street next to the railroad tracks, and will expand to include indoor vendor space as well as outdoor space.
The Fridays Farmers Market runs every Friday, October 2 through December 18, and is closed the Friday after Thanksgiving. Free parking is available on the streets surrounding the market location, at 215 E. Front Street, near Front and Center Streets in Downtown Arlington. For more information, visit Downtown Arlington.
