Dallas ISD to hold parent conferences October 12-15
The Dallas Independent School District will host a series of parent conferences beginning Monday, October 12. The conferences for each level follow:
· Monday, October 12: high schools, 4-8 p.m.
· Tuesday, October 13: middle schools, 4-8 p.m.
· Thursday, October 15: elementary schools, 4-8 p.m.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to use this time to talk with teachers about their child’s academic progress and learn how they can become an integral part of their child’s education.
Parents and guardians can prepare for the conferences by taking time to write down a list of questions they’d like to ask the teacher during the conference. During the meeting, parents and guardians should:
· Find out what they can do to help the student succeed
· Find out the best method of communicating with the teacher
· Make sure the teacher has current parent/guardian contact information
After the meeting, parents and guardians should follow up with the teacher to check the status of any concerns discussed during the conference.
