Another My Denton Music Showcase, The Ataris, and Ninja Academy are all on tap.
My Denton Music Party -- Friday, October 9 at Dan's Silver Leaf
Come celebrate a night of great local music Friday, October 9 at Dan's Silverleaf! This party will be HUGE, you better bring your dancin shoes! We have Dirty Little Mouth, Backside Pick, and Bastard Sons of Skoalfield rocking the spot as well as Hotbox providing FREE PIZZA all night!
Dirty Little Mouth: This Dallas-based funk/rock/dance group has been turning heads in the DFW area, but have just recently begun playing in Denton. If you are a fan of the infectious dance grooves of Jamiroquai and Daft Punk, you will love these guys.
The Bastard Sons of Skoalfield: These guys play some of the best local funk you will find. They have the solid groove and improve styling that will give you no choice but to shake something.
Thanks to Hotbox for sponsoring the event with FREE PIZZA!
Cover is $7 for those 21 and over and $9 for those under 21.
UPDATE: Backside Pick, voted Dallas Observer "Best Funk/R&B Band" has now been added to play! Check them out and all their funky goodness on their brand spanking new website.
The Ataris -- Tuesday, October 6 at Rubber Gloves
The show at Rubber Gloves this Tuesday is going to be fantastic. The Ataris, originally from Indiana, had their big break a few years ago with a Don Henley cover song, "The Boys of Summer." Since then, they have been enjoying a steady following and tremendous success.
Currently they are on a world tour in support of the release of their sixth studio album The Graveyard of the Atlantic. This tour. along with the release of the album. should solidify the band as one of the best and most respected bands in the pop punk genre.
Do not be surprised if the show fills up quickly. Even though this is Tuesday night, there are going to be a ton of fans ready to catch this band.
Ninja Academy -- Thursday, October 8 at The Boiler Room
This one should be a lot of fun. The Ninja Academy is a rock duo from California who do exactly that ... ROCK. Now I have never seen them in person, but from everything I have heard, their live show is something to behold.
No lyrics for most of their songs, just a ton of energy and excitement. It is going to be one of the most unique shows you will ever see. Check out this video and decide for yourself if you have ever seen anything like this.
