Address is CBS in Tuesday Dallas-Fort Worth ratings, even with NCIS: Los Angeles faltering
Local Nielsen ratings snapshot (Tues., Oct. 6)
NCIS again broke from the gate fast Tuesday, giving CBS a leg up in prime-time/late night.
TV's No. 1 show in the national Nielsens had 305,578 viewers in D-FW, with nothing else close in the 7 p.m. hour.
NCIS: Los Angeles then slipped to 259,077 viewers at 8 p.m., ceding the lead to ABC's Dancing with the Stars results show (298,935 viewers). Spared from eviction by viewers, former House Majority Leader Tom Delay of Houston nonetheless quit the show after both of his feet sustained fractures. But if he's able, DeLay was invited back to do a Texas Two Step in the season finale.
Former Cowboys star Michael Irvin landed in Dancing's bottom two, but actress Debi Mazar took the gas.
CBS righted its ratings ship at 9 p.m., with The Good Wife (305,578 viewers) whipping all competing programming. Wife and NCIS also won among advertiser-craved 18-to-49-year-olds while NCIS: Los Angeles tied for first with Dancing.
NBC's faltering Jay Leno Show tied for third in the total viewer Nielsens with Fox4's local 9 p.m. newscast. Leno also ran third with 18-to-49-year-olds, outdrawing ABC's The Forgotten.
CBS' Late Show with David Letterman continued to best NBC's Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien in total viewers, but the redhead nipped him among 18-to-49-year-olds.
In local news derby results, CBS11 was a double-winner for the second straight weeknight at 10 p.m., taking an outright gold in total viewers and tying Fox4 for first with 25-to-54-year-olds, the main advertiser target audience for news programming. NBC5 again ran an out-of-the-money fourth in both measurements.
But the Peacock remained strong at 6 a.m., scoring twin wins over runnerup Fox4.
NBC5 also took the 5 p.m. news competitions. At 6 p.m., WFAA8 had its only win of the day with a top-of-the-heap showing in total viewers. Fox4 countered with a win among 25-to-54-year-olds.
