Grape restaurant on Lower Greenville in Dallas has new sous chef
DALLAS Chef/owner Brian Luscher of The Grape on Greenville Avenue has named New England Culinary Institute graduate Robbie Lewis as sous chef of the popular neighborhood bistro.
Chef Lewis has held tenure in a number of notable Dallas establishments including The Mansion on Turtle Creek, The Green Room, Salum, and Fuse. In 2007, Lewis was named "First Place Winner for Red Wine" at The Dallas Morning News' Rising Star Chef Competition.
"We are proud and fortunate to have Robbie Lewis as our sous chef at The Grape. He's got quite a Dallas cooking pedigree. We can't wait to see what he brings to the table -- literally," says Luscher.

The grape will be shut down in a few months. That is only because the economy is going to be the culprit.

Why in a few months? If they are losing money wouldn't they shut down earlier rather than later?
I think the owner of The Grape needs to go on the record and not let the above speculation stand uncommented.
If untrue the above comment is unnecessary and puts fear into people who are working at The Grape.

i would be surprised if the Grape were anywhere near closing. i went there on a recent monday night and it was a-buzz. monday nights are usually pretty dead for restaurants. i think the Grape's business has REALLY benefited ever since it received that "best burger in Texas" award from Texas Monthly magazine

Chef and co-owner Brian Luscher responds to the malicious rumor-mongering of LGresident as follows:
"Any rumors of The Grape closing are unfounded and I’m hurt by them personally. The Grape has never been in better financial or physical health. We made it throught the last two years, which have been difficult for everyone in the restaurant industry, and even raised our revenue. I'm happy to report that the August was a record month for us in the last two years, and don't understand why anyone would post a comment saying otherwise."

That's ridiculous. The Grape is doing fantastic. We're in there twice-a-month and the place seems packed. Some other places that we frequent, at similar price point, are really hurting(a few in the same neighborhood). I love the seafood dishes.By the way, the two owners do a great job and really know how to make the customers feel special. JB
