Keep Lake Dallas Beautiful seeking volunteers for cleanup event on October 24
LEWISVILLE Keep Lake Dallas Beautiful (KLDB) will host Keep Lake Dallas Beautiful Cleanup, a water-way clean up day, on the shores of Lewisville Lake at Willow Grove Park on Saturday October 24 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Keep Lake Dallas Beautiful is seeking volunteers to join in the cleanup to help remove litter and debris from the lake's shores. These efforts will improve the local water quality, restore natural beauty, and reduce potential threats to human health and wildlife. Free breakfast and registration will be provided from 9:30 a.m. and special cards will be hidden along the clean-up area that can be redeemed for gift cards. The KLDB Cleanup is a great way for groups of people and individuals to come together, have fun, and help their environment.
The Keep Lake Dallas Beautiful Cleanup is supported by the Texas Waterway Cleanup Program, a partnership between Keep Texas Beautiful and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The program assists community organizations, scout and youth groups, schools, local governments, businesses, and concerned citizens across the state as they host inland freshwater area cleanups and environmental education activities.
For more information on the KLDB Clean-up and to sign up as a volunteer, call Shannon at 940-497-2226 x132 or visit the special events page. If you would like more information about organizing a cleanup in your area, visit the website or call Keep Texas Beautiful at 1-800-CLEAN-TX.
