Richland College to present 11th Annual Native American Pow Wow
Richland College will present the 11th Annual Native American Pow Wow on Saturday, November 14. The free event will be from 12:30-10 p.m. in the Richland College Gym (G101). The Pow Wow honors American Indian Heritage Month and features Native American arts, crafts, foods, dancing, singing, and drums.
The Pow Wow honors veterans and raises money for the Dallas Independent School District American Indian Education program and is sponsored by the DISD Parent Advisory Committee and Richland College Office of Student Life.
Richland College is located on land that shares a history and “spirit of place” with early Indian nations of Anadarko, Caddo, Keechi, Tonkawa, Ionie, Comanche, Witchita, as well as early Spanish explorers and European settlers.
