America’s Got Talent pianist and Carrollton resident Jeffrey Ou welcomed home
DALLAS Hometown musical hero Jeffrey Ou recently wowed America on NBC's hit show America's Got Talent when he made it all the way to the finals, but the Dallas native is also an Internet sensation on YouTube because of his remarkable piano playing. The 18 year old, who is now a freshman at the University of North Texas, had barely graduated from Newman Smith High School in 2008 when he submitted an audition tape and got the call that he made it on the show. Jeffrey, who was raised in Carrollton has studied the piano for eight years, for the last three years under internationally acclaimed Dr. Baya Kakouberi and has won countless awards.
Now to congratulate him on this extraordinary achievement and help him continue his studies, the Piano Gallery of Dallas will host a homecoming reception and fundraiser to present Jeffrey with a Perseverance Award on October 24, 2009. Tickets to the event are $25 and benefit the scholarship fund of the Elan International Music Festival, a 501c3 non-profit corporation.
