The House of Blues owns up to its name this week when they play host to Blues legend, Buddy Guy. The five-time Grammy winner/Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has influenced generations of musicians and fans, including Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix, Beck, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, and is ranked 30th among Rolling Stone's Top 100 Guitarists. Can you really argue with that fan list? No. No you cannot.

Friday

Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra: The Music of Billy Joel

When: Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, 8 p.m.
Where: Bass Performance Hall, 525 Commerce Street, Fort Worth

Full event details »

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra welcomes Broadway sensation, Michael Cavanaugh for an evening -- wait for it -- of Billy Joel at Bass Hall. Cavanaugh was chosen by the Piano Man himself to star in the hit Broadway musical Movin' Out, and was nominated for both Grammy and Tony awards. This concert features Cavanaugh's dynamic interpretations of Joel's greatest hits, colorful "behind-the-scenes" anecdotes about working with Joel, and hopefully a well-timed joke about the symphony orchestra driving into someone's house.

Saturday

Adonis Rose: New Orleans Music Night

When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, 9 p.m.
Where: Scat Jazz Lounge, 501 Houston Street, Fort Worth
Cost: Not available
Age limit: N/A
Full event details »

If you're anything like us, you get that jonesing for New Orleans jazz every three days or so. Fortunately, Adonis Rose is bringing NOLA closer to home (and saving us lots of mileage on the ole gas tank). Starting in November, Scat Jazz Lounge in Fort Worth will host New Orleans jazz nights each Wednesday -- and we get a sneak preview this weekend. The Fort Worth Jazz Orchestra's Krewe of Swing will join Rose Saturday night, so you can count on authentic Saints-style music. Word to the wise: We aren't actually in Louisiana, so don't wander down the street swilling your beer.

I'm personally hurt that <a href="http://www.pegasusnews.com/events/2009/oct/16/152242/">Hunter Sullivan at Lee Harvey's</a> on Friday isn't mentioned.

The big band outdoors is awesome, and <a href="http://www.weather.com/outlook/health/fitness/wxdetail/USTX0327?dayNum=1">weather forecast</a> looks amazing.
