Local Dallas artist to open new rent-free gallery
Jardine won six months of free gallery space and a $1000 gift card after winning the Elan Art Contest in July.
Everyone has heard the term ‘starving artist.’ Now one local business is giving an emerging artist the chance to display and sell her art at her own gallery ~ rent free!
Jardine won six months of free gallery space and a $1000 gift card after a committee of judges, including members of the local Dallas art and business community, named “Trees Squared” the winner of the Elan Art Contest in July.
“Since I won the Art of Elan Art competition in July, I have been working hard to complete my new collection to show,” Jardine said. “It was a great evening, and it was doubly wonderful because my twin 10-year-old daughters were with me. They were so thrilled that I won, and I was able to show them that hard work and persistence really can bring success.”
Jardine moved to Dallas in 2003 from England, and has worked to establish herself as a full-time artist. Now, thanks to Archstone and The Èlan at Bluffview apartment community, she will officially open the doors of her new rent-free gallery at 3810 W. Northwest Highway in Dallas with a launch party on Friday, Oct. 23, 6 until 9 p.m.
“Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy art, wine and appetizers,” Jardine said. “My art brings a fresh, modern perspective to painting nature, capturing in my large, colorful abstractions the profound connection and sensations it evokes in us. I am very energized by my new works.”
“We are excited about the grand opening of the Art of Èlan gallery, and the continuing success of this wonderful Dallas artist,” said Melanie Flaherty, Archstone’s director of marketing for the West region. “Archstone is pleased to have Alison as a tenant, and we look forward to watching her career continue to flourish.”
