Symphony conductor from China will guest conduct UT Arlington Symphony
Dongxiao Xu, a symphony conductor from China and guest professor at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing will conduct The University of Texas at Arlington Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 in Irons Recital Hall at the Fine Arts Building, 700 Greek Row.
Xu studied conducting at the Central Conservatory in Beijing and at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. He is conductor of the Qingdao Symphony Orchestra as well as guest professor of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
He will conduct Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, Weber's “Der Freischütz Overture” and Weber's “Andante and Hungarian Rondo for Viola and Orchestra” with viola soloist and UT Arlington graduate student Zheng Yang.
