Wine’tastic! on Lemmon Avenue in Dallas back up and running
DALLAS Terri Burney, former co-owner of Grand Tastings on McKinney Avenue, shut that venue down and is now ensconced at the previously-closed Wine'Tastic!
It's a fitting combination of empty venue + wine-bar owner in search of a new address.
"Our lease [at McKinney] was up," she says. "And I'd had enough of that name, I just wanted to move on. It just happened that this opportunity became available."
Burney wanted to "move on" because she'd opened Grand Tastings with her husband Don, who passed away from a heart attack in November 2007.
Meanwhile, Wine'tastic! went out of business last January.
Burney says that she's changed the original Wine'tastic! concept to make it more like Grand Tasting, in that it's a retail store but she offers tastings all day, with wines by the glass and wines by the bottle.
