Dallas-area non-profit film group to host fundraiser in Addison
The Southwest Community of Motion Picture Artists (S.C.O.M.P.A.), a 501(c)(3) film group, invites the community to the Black Finn in Addison on Friday, October 23 from 6-9 p.m. to raise money to make meaningful films for the community. Adults 21 and older can purchase $5 raffle tickets for prizes valued up to $150. Ticket holders will also receive a wristband that entitles them to half off the already discounted drinks.
S.C.O.M.P.A. is a non-profit organization dedicated to making films that matter to the community. In 2008 and 2009, S.C.O.M.P.A. members volunteered their time to make films for other non-profit organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Paws in the City, and the highly publicized film F5 for the American Red Cross that premiered at the Studio Movie Grill.
S.C.O.M.P.A. members are a mix of industry professionals, students, and apprentices. These volunteers work together to make films that educate and inspire the community. To continue creating these films, S.C.O.M.P.A. is raising funds for new equipment (i.e. cameras). For more information about S.C.O.M.P.A. visit scompa.org.
