DiRoNA returns to Dallas to host Stars Above Texas 2009 Conference
After many years of being absent from the Dallas spotlight, DiRoNA (Distinguished Restaurants of North American) returns to host Stars Above Texas 2009 Conference in Dallas at The Rosewood Crescent Hotel on October 25-27.
The conference theme will capture the Southwest Texas spirit featuring Dallas’s favorite chef personalities: Kent Rathbun of Abacus, Jasper's, and Rathbun's Blue Plate Kitchen; Stephan Pyles of Stephan Pyles Restaurant; Tim Love of The Lonesome Dove Western Bistro; and Dean Fearing of Fearing's.
The three-day event will feature speakers such as Kay Bailey Hutchinson, U.S. state senator; Sid Cook, Master Cheese maker of Carr Valley Cheese; and Dawn Sweeney, CEO of National Restaurant Association. Attendees will have the chance to enjoy the exciting events that will appreciate the traditional flavors and elegant, artful cuisine of Texas. This year, DiRoNA is doing it BIG, Texas style.
Event highlights include the conference kick-off night at the Nasher Sculpture Garden with celebrity chefs igniting attendees a taste of Texas. As the chefs prepare, famous art collections will be on display for attendees to enjoy. Saddle up at DiRoNA’s evening of Texas-style where attendees can two-step the night away or lounge with cigars while celebrity chefs Kent Rathbun and Tim Love cook up a special menu highlighting Texas’ favorite dishes. For restaurant business owners, the conference will hold various workshops learning about the different trends and topics of food, wine, finance, operations, and social media.
The final, grand event will be the gala dinner at the Crescent Ballroom where DiRoNA will honor the 2009 Hall of Fame inductees and will welcome the new class of 2010 into the DiRoNA family. Beginning with a cocktail reception and ending the night with desserts and cordials, this special evening will leave guests utterly satisfied.
