ICT Mainstage in Irving to present Don’t Dress for Dinner
ICT MainStage audiences are in for a scrumptious evening of entertainment and fun when Marc Camoletti’s acclaimed comedy Don’t Dress for Dinner opens the 2009-2010 season with a November 6 through November 21 run at the Irving Arts Center.
In this sequel to his smash Broadway hit, Boeing, Boeing, Camoletti continues the amorous misadventures of Bernard, whose plans for a weekend rendezvous go astray with hilarious mix-ups while trying to keep his wife and mistress apart. Visitors to Bernard’s home are hastily recruited to cover up his unraveling alibis. The guests, though, are also trying to conceal their own romantic entanglements.
The fast-paced humor and witty dialog of Don’t Dress for Dinner are guaranteed to fill the Dupree Theater with laughter. And what a feast of talent ICT MainStage has put together for this production.
Multi-talented theater pro J. Alan Hanna performs the role of Bernard at its roguish best. He’s joined by area stage favorite Nikki Andoga, who makes a memorable ICT debut as Jacqueline, Bernard’s wife, who has a few secrets of her own.
Brad Stephens makes a terrific return to ICT MainStage in the part of Robert, Bernard’s long-time confidante, who becomes enmeshed in his friend’s complicated web of alibis. Column Award winner Angela Allen plays Suzette, a caterer who also gets snagged into helping bail Bernard out of his predicaments.
Leon Rabin Award winner Ginger Goldman makes an impressive ICT debut as Suzanne, Bernard’s mistress. ICT favorite Scott Nixon is back at MainStage as George, Suzette’s ferociously jealous husband.
MainStage stalwart Jill Stephens launches the new season in the director’s chair and Binnie Tomaro also returns to give the comedy the right look as costume designer. Sam Nance puts the spotlight on the fun as lighting designer, while Robin Stephens adeptly handles sound design responsibilities. Erin Ball “sets a beautiful table” as scenic designer for her first ICT show.
ICT vet Evelyn Hall keeps the comic mayhem running smoothly as stage manager. Long-time MainStage producer Jo Anne Hull once again puts together a classic ICT show.
Be sure to bring a hearty appetite for laughs to this Dinner. Ticket information and reservations can be obtained by calling (972) 252-2787 or going online at www.irvingtheatre.org.
