Reata opens fast-casual Mexican restaurant La Espuela for Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo

Restaurant's lifespan runs the length of the stock show which is January 15-February 7.

— Reata is proud to announce its expanded presence at the annual Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo through a third restaurant, La Espuela (Spanish for “the spur”). The fast casual Mexican concept will feature items such as Tortilla Soup, Beef and Chicken Enchiladas, along with Reata’s legendary Tenderloin Tamales with Sun-dried Tomato Cream and Pesto Mash. Beer, wine, and margaritas will also be served for in-house dining.

La Espuela will be located in the Centennial Room of the Charlie and Kit Moncrief Building, at the corner of Burnett Tandy Drive and Rip Johnson Drive. Patrons will order menu items through walk-up line service, with dining tables available on a first-come, first-served basis. To-go food orders (not alcohol) will also be available through a dedicated concession window. The restaurant will seat 80-100, and the average cost of a meal at La Espuela will be approximately $10 per person.

"Reata is honored to expand our presence at one of Fort Worth ’s favorite events," said Mike Micallef, president of Reata Restaurants. "The goal of La Espuela is to quickly provide affordable and quality Mexican food in a casual and friendly environment." Carla Curry – noted movie set decorator and Reata’s long-time friend – will once again be providing interior design consultation, set-up, and decor.

“We are excited about having Reata assist us with providing additional quality food options for Stock Show visitors through La Espuela,” said Brand Barnes, executive vice president and general manager of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. “Reata has been a valuable concession partner for nine years, and we are confident their new Mexican concept will add tremendous value as a fast-casual dining alternative.” The 2010 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo runs from January 15 through February 7.
