Photos from Coppell Oak Fest 2009
Sherri Lewis, special events coordinator for the City of Coppell, sent along some pictures from Oak Fest, held on October 17 at Andy Brown Park.
Says Sherri: "It was a dark and stormy night ..." (OOOPS! Wrong quote ...)
What she really said was: "It was a gorgeous fall day; a welcome sight after all of the rain we have had! The music of Breckenridge and Emerald City Band created an atmosphere of jubilee. The smell of hamburgers and kettle corn billowed through the air. Families poured into Andy Brown Park with kiddos whose eyes were aglow at the sight of trains, the Side Street Circus, a bouncing bungee, bounce houses, a mechanical bull, climbing wall, clowns, face painting, jugglers, and entertaining crafts."
By Sherri's estimation, about 4,500 folks showed up at this third annual Oak Fest event. Judging by the pictures, it appears a good time was had by -- well, at least those in the pictures, we can't speak for anyone else.
Next up for Coppell will be a Holiday Parade and Celebration at Town Center Plaza. This event -- set for Saturday, December 5 at 6:30 p.m. -- will include holiday lights, snow play (they're looking at fake snow, barring an unexpected weather event) and some tête-à-tête with Santa.
Visit the city's website for complete details, or call Parks and Rec at 972-462-5100.
