4th Wall Gallery presents international fashion designer and artist Chesley McLaren
DALLAS Matthew and Kristine Abramowitz continue to bring work from all genres of art at The 4th Wall Gallery. On November 7, the doors open to the world of fashion. This art exhibition, headlined by Chesley McLaren, will show both her art designs as well as a preview of her 2010 collection.
Kristine Abramowitz states, "Chesley McLaren's designs and art will be the Piece de Resistance of the season. Dallas is putting itself on the international map for the arts and Chesley's work is a great way to celebrate this exciting time for the art community."
McLaren started her career as a designer on 7th Avenue and after 10 years, she left to pursue the world of "fashionable" illustration. Her first campaign was "Vive La France" for Bloomingdale's. Six months of creating the Parisian image gave her the recognition as the "French Illustrator" in New York.
Her whimsical French style has been seen in everything from murals to furniture, mannequins to scarves, package design, editorial and books. Chesley has designed silk scarves for DKNY and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, "The New Sophisticates" for Sakes Fifth Avenue and "The New Couture" collection for Ralph Pucci International. Her work has a successful history of attracting celebrity shoppers to these great stores as well as high-profile Hollywood events.
McLaren's work will be on display from November 7 to December 5, 2009. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of her art and new book she illustrated, The gospel According to Coco Chanel: Life Lessons from the World's Most Elegant Woman (written by Karen Karbo), will benefit The Children's Medical Center. Children's Medical Center is a private, not-for-profit pediatric academic medical center that relies on the generosity of the community to help fulfill its mission to make life better for children.
This show at The 4th Wall Gallery will also be showing the fashion art work of Australian Artist, Kristian T. Mumford. Matthew Abramowitz says, "His work will leave you breathless." In addition, American fashion illustrator Peter Bresse and Italian Artist Giulio Iurissevich's amazing work will be displayed.
