Lavendou in north Dallas doing special Alsace menu in October

0

— With all the flavor of autumn, Lavendou presents Choucroute Garni à l'Alsacienne, one of the classic dishes of France.

The Alsace region of Northeastern France is renowned for its cuisine. Choucroute means Sauerkraut in French, but unlike German Sauerkraut, the cabbage is cooked in wine with potatoes, onions, carrots, and spices and then topped with an array of smoked meats, bacon and different types of sausages. This is truly a hearty feast fit for a king!

Guests may order the Choucroute on its own or they may order the three-course Alsace Degustation Menu for only $34.95 with Tarte Flambée (pictured at left) and imported Mirabelles Plums Tart.

Lavendou will feature this classic French dish October 2 through October 31, 2009. To accompany this feast, Lavendou will feature Alsace wines from various producers and our favorite beers, such as Stella Artois from Belgium.

Choucroute and the Alsace Degustation menu is available for dinner throughout the month of October. Reservations are recommended and may be made by phone (972-248-1911), fax (972-248-1660), by e-mail to provencial@aol.com, or through the website.
