News of Fort Worth sewer overflow reported by Arlington officials
Don't worry, though: The discharge "does not pose a risk to public drinking water supplies."
Thanks to heavy rains over the past several days, sewer overflows have occurred in the areas of 5600 Kaltenbrun Rd. and 1305 Gilman St. in Fort Worth, according to Fort Worth utility officials.
The sewer overflows -- which pose no threat to public drinking water supplies, authorities stress (due to the large volume of rainwater diluting the sewage) -- occurred near enough to the municipal boundary with Arlington that the folks in the City of Arlington Office of Communication felt compelled to issue their own statement on the unfortunate event.
“This overflow does not pose any danger to Arlington’s drinking water supply,” said Arlington Water Utilities Director Julie Hunt. “We will continue to monitor water quality in Lake Arlington to ensure that it is safe before being treated.”
