Star Wars: In Concert at Cowboys Stadium
"Amazing, unique, larger than life" are a few words that come to mind when I share my experience of Friday night's Star Wars concert held in Jerry's House. As I motored toward the stadium at dusk, I found it very fitting and profound to be driving up to what looked like something you would actually see in a Star Wars movie.
Before the concert began, the energy of Star Wars fans both young and old was definitely a people-watching experience. The lobby was all abuzz each time a parent or child would see one of the Star Wars characters posing with their eager fans. Fathers hoisted their young sons up on their shoulders to walk around and snap their own pictures of the characters mingling in the crowds. I saw just as much excitement in the eyes of the dads as I did in those of their young children when they stood next to the encased original costumes used in the movies. There were also original concept drawings for the fans to enjoy.
Conductor Mark Watters and his orchestra, the film clips, and huge screens all made for a memorable night. I do hope that conductor Watters, who hails from the North Texas area, was proud to share his passion, his talent, and his orchestra with family and attendees.
I found myself wishing that the media were allowed to shoot more that just the first score of the concert and the emceeing by Anthony Daniels (C-3PO). It was non-stop action-packed. Here are a few images that will shed some light on what was missed!
