TxDOT makes emergency closure on north and southbound SH 5 in Collin County
A bridge column on the SH 5 bridge was damaged by flooding.
North and southbound lanes are closed on SH 5 from FM 543 to County Road 275, between McKinney and Melissa, for emergency bridge repair. The closure began at 5 pm. Friday, October 23, 2009 and will continue through 5 p.m. November 23, 2009.
A bridge column on the SH 5 bridge was damaged by flooding. Detours and signs are in place to direct traffic around the closure. The detour is expected to take between 8 and 10 minutes to navigate. Motorists should expect delays.
