Dallas-based Jack E. Jett radio show goes pogo this Saturday

1

Apparently, Jack E. Jett's foray into call-in music programming went over pretty well with listeners, because he's repeating the format for this Saturday's show (on Rational Radio, 1360 AM, 1-3 p.m.).

Says Jack: "We will be playing all the requests that have come in to us, including some Husker Du, Stranglers, Buzzcocks, Black Flag, and of course some Donna Fargo -- because she is the happiest girl in the whole USA! Of course Robb Lobster will be there with facts, figures, and lies."

On Sunday (same time, same station) the programming returns to the talk format, with the interview lineup set to include (with Jack's comments in quotations):

* Buck Wolf, editor of Weird News at About.com

* Ronnie Schell, who "started as a contestant on You Bet Your Life opposite Groucho Marx and went on to play Jim Nabors' companion, I mean lover, I mean partner, I mean pal, on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C."

* Rip Taylor, "one of the more subtle comedians of our time. I consider myself the poor man’s version of Rip Taylor. We all loved him on The Gong Show and The $1.98 Beauty Pageant."

* Sandra Bernhard, who "got her start as a contestant on The $1.98 Beauty Pageant and ended up co-hosting a show with me -- which is proof you can end up worse than when you started in the biz. Sandra has a new song out with the fab … Chrissie Hynde."

Sounds like fun for almost everybody.
