Irving-based VHA Inc. named Seventh Best Place to Work in Health Care

VHA Inc., a national health care network, has been named the 7th best place to work in health care by Modern Healthcare magazine. This is the second consecutive year VHA was ranked within the Top 100. In 2008, VHA ranked 76th.

The magazine compiled this year’s list using information collected from thousands of health care workers at more than 300 health care companies nationwide, including hospitals, suppliers, and service companies. Modern Healthcare asked a series of detailed questions related to leadership and planning, culture and communications, quality of working environment, training and development, and compensation and benefits.

“Our top ten ranking validates what we know to be true about VHA. It’s a great place to work, and it has been for a long time,” said Curt Nonomaque, president and chief executive officer at VHA. “VHA helps hospitals with their most difficult challenge, providing excellent care while managing dwindling resources. That mission, guided by our values, culture and ethics, enables us to make a meaningful impact on our nation’s health care system. The people who work here could work almost anywhere else, but they choose to leverage their talents through VHA.”

VHA has 765 employees in Irving and an additional 700+ employees throughout its 17 regional offices. Across its employee base, VHA includes 171 nurses, pharmacists, and doctors, as well as many others who have worked in various roles in hospitals and the health care industry.
