The Museum of Geometric and MADI Art in Dallas to present Geometric Gala

0

The Museum of Geometric and MADI Art is presenting their first annual "Geometric Gala" on December 4. The "Geometric Gala" will be held at The Museum from 7 to 10 p.m.

The "Geometric Gala" is a fundraising event organized to benefit The Museum of Geometric and MADI Art. There will be live music by The Texas Gypsies, fine wines, delicious food, and a silent auction which will include approximately 80 pieces of art consistent in style to the art shown at the museum, all created by well known geometric and MADI artists.

Attendance for the "Geometric Gala" is limited to 200 people. Proper attire for the event would be considered "festive" or cocktail, but attendees are also encouraged to wear "geometric" costumes, traditional at MADI events in other countries.

Tickets may be purchased directly from the museum for $60 per ticket until November 20. Thereafter, including the night of the event, tickets will be $75. Tickets may be purchased by credit card by calling 214.855.7802, or by sending a check to The Museum of Geometric and MADI Art. Tickets will be held at the door and include the event as well as valet parking.

The proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction will go towards the purchase of art for the permanent collection, the extension to the community of the educational outreach programs of The Museum of Geometric and MADI Art, and the bringing of more international artists to Dallas.

"This is a party, which we have been planning for months", said Dorothy Masterson, curator and director of the Museum. "It will be a delightful evening!" she emphasized. "The 'geometric' flower arrangements, silent auction, and music alone will be worth the admission!

"The purpose of the 'Geometric Gala' is not only to raise money for the museum, but also is to give folks, who may not yet have discovered the joys of geometric and MADI art, or who have only slightly become acquainted, to experience both a broader exposure, due to the large number of contributing artists, but in addition, the chance to acquire, at a relatively modest price, and actual original work by one of our artists."
