Collin Theatre Center to present Bus Stop
William Inge's Bus Stop is a classic American drama about the power of love. When cowboy Bo and his friend Virgil take the bus from Montana to Phoenix, Arizona, to participate in the rodeo, Bo is also hoping to find his "angel." There, naive Bo falls in love with cafe singer Cherie performing "That Old Black Magic" and plans to take her back to Montana. The next day, Bo intends to marry her after the rodeo ... but Cherie escapes. Cherie wants to go Hollywood, where she hopes to be discovered. But Bo tracks her down, and forces her on the bus back to Montana. On the way, they stop at Grace's Diner. Gradually, the headstrong Bo realizes that you can't rope a gal the same way you lasso a steer!
Bus Stop will be directed by Gail Cronauer and assistant directed by Jon Christie. Hana Goff will serve as stage manager with Taylor Long serving as assistant stage manager. The cast for Bus Stop includes artists from across the DFW Metroplex: Barret Lewis (Lucas); Johanna Nchekwube; Tom Reisenbichler; Heather Sims (Dallas); Rebekah Melillo (Lewisville); Aaron Rathbun (Frisco); Nolan Martin (Celina); Stephanie Cambra (Plano); Porcia Bartholomae (Fort Worth); and Rob Williams (Mesquite).
