Is anybody (besides me) old enough to remember watching Icky Twerp (aka Bill Camfield) on Slam Bang Theater, KTVT-TV Channel 11's local programming format for airing Three Stooges comedy shorts? Do you miss it like I do?

Well, get ready for a 50th anniversary celebration of all things Slam Bang Theater-ish on Thursday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 26, courtesy of the Dallas iMedia Network. The two events detailed below will benefit Dallas iMedia's Youth Channel and a special TCU Writing Scholarship.

Slam Bang Theater retrospective: family-friendly celebration and classic program screenings

When: Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: W.E. Scott Theatre, 1309 Montgomery Street, Fort Worth

* On Thursday, Sept. 24 (from 7 p.m.- 8 p.m.) join former cast, crew, and others who grew up watching Slam Bang Theater for a special live television program taping at Dallas iMedia Network's studio. Seating is limited; register for studio audience seating by calling 214-631-5571 or emailing mbryant@dallasimedia.net.

* On Saturday, Sept. 26 (from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m.) get set for a nostalgic, family-friendly celebration with classic program screenings, show memorabilia, slapstick workshops, a 60's sock hop band, and more. All this will be happening at the Scott Theater, 1300 Gendy Street in Fort Worth.

Poor old Icky and Ajax, yes I saw them years ago on Channel 11 where they had the monster and frankenstein show,..Ickey would play Frankentein on Sautrday at 10 in the evening,...sad but true we miss this stuff from the tube....more hope and wishes for these folks....A/T...growing up in in Texas as a kid in the 1950's and 1960's was a charm...
