Eating and drinking events in Dallas-Fort Worth, September 3-10
See all Food and Wine events
Get on the wine trail, get thee to Bedford, and then get ya some Hatch chiles.
The week's top picks:
Saturday
Dallas Wine Trail repeats a successful event first launched in May, wherein a cabal of local wineries -- in this case, Times Ten, Fuqua, Calais, and Inwood Estates -- band together for a shared event, wherein your admission price includes three tastings at each winery, a crystal "Dallas Wine Trail" wine glass to keep, snacks, and a bottle to take home.
Saturday-Sunday
2009 Bedford Labor Day Blues & BBQ Festival
Two-day holiday festival has tons of bands and, the most important part, BBQ.
Tuesday
Down the Hatch Party
Blue Mesa will be roasting Hatch chiles to be paired with the tequilas of Cabo Wabo. They'll offer complimentary tastings of steak relleno tacos, chile rellenos, and salsa made with Hatch green chiles. Take some home! Line your closet with them. Also: free tastes of Cabo Wabo Silver, Reposado, and AƱejo Tequilas, plus a new cocktail: ruby red grapefruit and Hatch margarita. I believe an "ole!" is called for right about now.
The party is at all Blue Mesas: Addison, Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, and Southlake.
