Twelve candidates running for Dallas ISD School Board
DALLAS — Twelve candidates have completed the filing process to run for a seat on the Dallas ISD School Board. The special election, scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, will decide who will represent District 1 (Northwest Dallas), District 3 (Northeast Dallas) and District 9 (South Dallas and parts of downtown).
Candidates for the School Board election in District 1 are:
· Melvin Cannon, retired salesman
· Edwin Flores, attorney (incumbent)
· Kyle Renard, homemaker
· Linus Spiller, a freelance writer
District 3 candidates are:
· Penny Anderly, consultant
· Leigh Ann Ellis, landscape designer (incumbent)
· Beatrice Alba Martinez, real estate broker
· Bruce Parrott, television producer
District 9 candidates are:
· Sally Cain, education/consultant
· Bernadette Nutall, executive director, Circle of Support
· Dr. Juanita Wallace, retired administrator
· Rossi Walter, self-finance/fitness/security
Candidates intending to seek office on the school board had until 5 p.m., Wdnesday day to file.
