Mayors of cities around Dallas to attend DFW International Dinner on September 10

— Several local mayors will attend the DFW International Dinner on Thursday, September 10 at 6 p.m. to discuss the issues of international challenges and opportunities for North Texas.

The event will be held at the Temple Emanu-El, 8500 Hillcrest Road in Dallas. A reception begins at 6 p.m., followed by a 7:15 p.m. banquet with 17 courses from around the world. Tickets and table reservations are required.

Mayors participating on the panel include: John Harper, mayor of Rowlett; Tom Leppert, mayor of Dallas; Joe Chow, mayor of Addison; Dr. Carrie Gordon, mayor of Balch Springs; Herb Gears, mayor of Irving; Ron Jones, mayor of Garland; and David Green, mayor of Duncanville.

This event is designed to acknowledge the many cultural, civic, and economic contributions New Americans bring to the fastest growing area in the country, enhancing the international image of the communities that make the greater Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.

Event activities include:

• Global entertainment from Mexico, Cameroon, Paraguay, Eritrea, and China

• International raffle and door prizes from around the world

• Hall of Fame awards

• Parade of Nations with flags representing New Americans from 50 countries

• Traditional dress recommended

What - the Farmers Branch mayor is not attending? Doesn't he want to acknowledge the many cultural, civic, and economic contributions New Americans bring to the fastest growing area in the country? I don't understand.
