I definitely will give these a try! Sounds infinitely more edible than fried butter.

um...I blame Labor Day for my previous comment! Definitely meant to say "try this" in reference to the peaches concoction.

Fried butter? Even cow dung will taste good if it is fried. But it will make great people watching to see who eats it.

Here's a cool story sent to me via email:
"I found your web site after my sister attended the Texas state fair yesterday. We lost our dear cousin Fernie last year, and she saw Fernie's fried peaches and cream at the fair. I know this is a funny request, but is there anywhere that you know of that we could get a t-shirt or cap with the Fernie's fried peaches and cream logo? We would love to have something with that name on it. We only know of 2 people with that name, our cousin and uncle. Our cousin didn't do fried ice cream, but he did a mean fried turkey, and loved to make us homemade biscuits and gravy when we were together. Any contact would be appreciated. Again, I know this is a unusual request." --Bev Lupardus
We were able to locate the contact information for the owners of Fernie's. Hopefully they will enjoy Bev's touching story!

It really is a beautiful day, the last day at the Fair, and the Big Tex looks great, while the 2009 Fair has had it share of bad day's too, back to what should a State Fair represent after so many decades, years and events.......Good question, while.....It is still happening as it has for some 120 years.....
A gathering of folks from all walks of life and places to realize...This was the real Arts District at one time, and so next year Fair Park becomes something new and better.....Lets hope, well off to the fair one last day...Until then A/T...
