Ten Sports Grill in Dallas to host “Come Fly with Us” charity event
At a time when the cost of healthcare dominates public forums all over America, some in Downtown Dallas are busy trying to alleviate the burden on families with little or no insurance.
Ten Sports Grill on Main Street in Downtown Dallas, Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison, and other members of the Downtown Dallas community have come together to host “Come Fly with Us!” on September 12 at 8 p.m., a benefit for Grace Flight of America.
The mission of Grace Flight of America and its regional affiliate, Angel Flight South Central, is to help people needing air transportation for medical and humanitarian purposes. Grace Flight of America relies completely on volunteer pilots and donations from individuals, foundations, clubs and corporations. It is the non-profit’s goal to allow patients to get specialized medical treatment not available to them locally.
Many of the patients flown have conditions that make extensive ground travel or navigating crowded commercial airports more stressful and potentially damaging to compromised immune systems. All patients and companions are flown free of charge by volunteer pilots using their own planes. Alleviating the trauma of travel helps the patient focus on their treatment and recovery.
Grace Flight of America's staff and the Ten Sports Grill will host a “fun filled aviation theme night” at the restaurant. In addition to the aviation theme, the evening will also feature music and food and lots of exciting giveaways and prizes. Plus, the added joy of partying with a purpose.
People are invited to come down to Ten Sports Grill for a few hours to help others get to specialized treatments at medical facilities across the nation. For more information, call Maggie Campbell at 214-748-1010 or BJ Session with Grace Flight of America at 972-755-0433 or 888-500-0433.
