Dallas’ HDNet debuts “The Dating Guy”
Pull up your barstool and get ready for "The Dating Guy," to be aired Sept. 17 on HDNet, owned by Dallas' own Mark Cuban. What "Family Guy" did for dysfunctional families, this new animated series does for the outrageous world of twenty-something dating.
Say hello to Mark Deacon, a cute, sweet, funny 25-year-old with a good job in advertising. He dresses well and isn't an awkward and hopeless loser -- except when it comes to women. They mystify and even frighten him.
"The Dating Guy" follows four friends Mark, Woody, Sam, and VJ and their weekly hunt for love -- or at least some kind of "happy ending." Dedicated to all of us who have ever been on "one of those" dates, it's a no-holds-barred comedy about man's quest to bed women and woman's quest to ... who knows?
Smart, edgy and urban-minded, "The Dating Guy" comes from the dysfunctional minds of marblemedia partners Mark Bishop and Matt Hornburg, developed with Teletoon and co-produced with E1 entertainment. The series boldly exposes the romantic, working and everyday struggles of these four friends and their attempts at finding love (or lust). With an entourage of quirky supporting characters, the show offers an eclectic and comical view to the world of dating.

Russ Vandeveerdonk, says:
Another HDNet/Mark Cuban event,...good stuff. I remember when the first HD-Net video, a concert was filmed in far North Dallas at Club Life in 2002. Brian Cuban was there watching from the audience. It was great,...wonder what happened to that show called "LIFE-FEST 2002"?
