Dallas ISD seeks community leaders to be “Principal for a Day”
DALLAS Dallas Independent School District invites corporate, social, professional, civic, and community leaders to experience firsthand what a Dallas ISD principal encounters on a daily basis by participating in the "Principal for a Day" program scheduled for October 15.
Sponsored by Capital One Bank, the purpose of the Principal for a Day program is to increase awareness and understanding among individuals in the private sector of the strengths and challenges of schools in the Dallas ISD, demonstrate the private sector’s commitment to ensuring a quality public education for all students and form ongoing partnerships between individuals/businesses and Dallas ISD.
Community representatives interested in sharing their knowledge with school staff and students while learning more about the functions of public schools and witnessing teaching and learning in Dallas ISD schools can submit a request to be a “Principal for a Day” by sending an e-mail to pfad@dallasisd.org. Participation is by invitation only, and the registration deadline is September 30.
Partners and volunteers play an important role in achieving the district’s goals of becoming the best urban school district in the nation and in helping graduating students become college and workforce ready. To become a partner or volunteer with Dallas ISD, visit the Support Our Schools section of the district’s Web site at www.dallasisd.org.
