Designer donates 50 percent of proceeds from t-shirt to Dallas-based Susan G. Komen
DALLAS The Katydid Collection today announced the availability of a new t-shirt design supporting breast cancer research, screening, and education. Fifty percent of proceeds from sales of the tee will benefit the Dallas County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The tattoo inspired t-shirt -- available in pink, black, and white -- features distinctive Katydid Collection designs, pairing bold graphics with a feminine pattern and rhinestone accents. The messages of faith, hope, and love are combined with the iconic pink ribbon of breast cancer awareness.
The Katydid Collection tee will be awarded to the Top 50 individual pledge fundraisers for the 2009 Komen Dallas Race for the Cure. In addition to serving as Pledge for the Cure sponsor, the Katydid Collection will have its own race team at the October 17 event, led by owner and team captain Katy Messersmith.
"The design on our new tee was inspired by the brave women who fight breast cancer and those that support them," said Messersmith. "We are honored to be affiliated with this important cause, and hope all Katydid fans will join in supporting breast cancer awareness."
In addition to proceeds from the tee, the Katydid Collection will donate $1 to the Dallas County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure for every new Facebook friend during the month of September. The Katydid Collection will continue to provide updates on its fundraising efforts and related promotions at the team Web site as well as the fashion line's Facebook and Twitter pages.
