Wolfgang Puck is not leaving Five Sixty at Dallas’ Reunion Tower, as rumored
DALLAS Two phone calls in the past 24 hours from reliable sources have hinted that Wolfgang Puck has pulled out of his involvement with Five Sixty, the restaurant spinning atop Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas.
But manager Shawn Horne says there's absolutely no truth to that rumor.
"Wolfgang by no stretch of the imagination is going anywhere," Horne said.
Why would such rumors circulate, one wondered?
"We did sell off 51% of our catering operation to Compass Group, but that was a couple of years ago," Horne said. "And after our end-of-the-year meeting on September 24, there was discussion that we'd be selling off more of it. But that doesn't mean he's leaving."
Wolfgang Puck Catering is busy-busy, however; they've unofficially been retained as food service operator for both the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House as well as the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the new Arts Plaza opening this fall.

And finally, a nice word about intelligent places to eat.....Dinning at the Big Ball, Reunion Tower has been a challenge for Wolfgang and his Puck..due to the loss of The J.F.K hole in the wall Hambuger joint....then again, the sign of the times we could be eating Obamma rice soon..A/T, Tally ho, no such thing as hard times, becuase I am intelligent...

I have noticed his e-mail is invalid now. He might be over-exposed and trying to do too much. I doubt he will ever work a full shift in the kitchen at 560! He is just too "in demand" everywhere and that can also be a bit sad for those who go there, to dine and spend a small fortune hoping to meet Wolfgang in person. Reality check folks. I do hope 560 keeps it going up there at Reunion Tower. Wish the Reunion Hotel (Hyatt) had a better swimming pool, they filled-in the old big pool and now all there is left is a "kiddie-pool" at best!!! It was a great place to watch the traffic crawl by on 35 Industrial while sitting poolside in years past.

I didn't think anyone who goes to this place thinks they will see Wolfgang any more than they think they'll see Ronald when they pick up a quarter pounder, but I was wrong on another occasion, too.

If they had upgraded the lights on the ball (LEDs are cheap now, aren't they?), more people would be looking at Reunion Tower and maybe think of it as a destination as well.

Should upgrade them to HIDs so you could see it from space, imo.
