Contestants sought for Ultimate S’mores Contest at RV Supershow in Dallas Sept. 18
At the 2009 Southwest RV Supershow, contestants will demonstrate how to create their own version of the delectable combination of chocolate, marshmallows, graham crackers (and who knows what else) in the Ultimate S'mores Contest at the RV Supershow at Dallas Market Hall, Sept. 17-20.
First place winner receives $300 and the second place winner receives $200.
All recipes will be judged on creativity, taste, visual appeal, and ease of preparation and assembly. Eligible individuals, couples, or groups are invited to submit unlimited entries to info@shiromasouthwest.com through noon September 15. Twelve recipes will then be selected to be demonstrated by the contestant on Friday, Sept. 18 at 2009 Southwest RV Supershow for a panel of judges. The top three contestants from this round will then compete for the cash prize and title of Ultimate S'mores 2009 on Saturday, Sept. 18. All selected contestants will receive four passes to the Southwest RV Supershow.
The official rules for the Ultimate S'mores Contest, presented by the 2009 Southwest RV Supershow, are available online.
The first, original S'mores recipe dates to a 1927 edition of the Girl Scout Handbook -- beginning the family tradition for a quick, scrumptious campfire treat. There is just something irresistible about fluffy toasted marshmallows and melted chocolate squishing out of a graham cracker that has remained as generations pass down their timeless recipes.
Submissions for the Ultimate S'more Contest are due Wednesday Sept. 15 by noon.
