Tarrant County College names Linda Braddy as South Campus Dean
Linda Braddy, former mathematics department chair at East Central University in Ada, Okla., has been named dean of the Health and Natural Sciences Division at Tarrant County College South Campus.
Braddy, who earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics at East Central University, began her teaching career in 1996 as an adjunct mathematics instructor at her alma mater. She also served as assistant professor, associate professor, and professor of mathematics before she was named department chair in 2005.
She holds a doctorate and master’s degrees in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
At East Central University, Braddy served on several committees including the Provost’s General Education Advisory Committee, Academic Committee, and the Visions and Traditions Committee. She also was a faculty senator, Math Club faculty advisor, and Phi Delta Kappa officer for three years.
Professional memberships include The Mathematical Association of America, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and Phi Delta Kappa International.
Braddy earned the Oklahoma-Arkansas Section of The Mathematical Association of America Award for Distinguished University Teaching of Mathematics in 2006. In 2001, she earned the East Central University Teaching Excellence Award and was named East Central University Faculty of the Month by the Student Senate.
