UT Arlington’s Oozeball event to raise money for scholarships
More than 750 students are set to do battle on Friday, Sept. 18, at noon in the thick and sticky mud at The University of Texas at Arlington's 20th anniversary of the most popular campus tradition.
The Oozeball Volleyball Tournament raised money for four $1,000 scholarships last year, and the Student Alumni Association expects between 120 and 130 teams of six to enter this year's muddy battle at the five Oozeball courts located between Greek Row and Fourth Street on Summit Ave.
Members of the Student Alumni Association will participate on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 6 p.m. in the mixing 143 tons of dirt with water provided by the Arlington Fire Department.

Alex Bentley, says:
Just got this notice from UTA:
"I’m sorry but due to the weather, Oozeball has been rescheduled for noon next Friday, Sept. 25."
It would seem to me that rain and volleyball played in mud would go hand in hand, but I guess that's why I don't make these kinds of decisions. In any event, your Oozeball fix will have to wait for another week.
