Break a Leg! video preview of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra season opener
This is the second in a series called Break a Leg! where we bring you video of a production's dress rehearsal -- because everyone loves a sneak peek.
See the first Break a Leg! video of the Spectacular Senior Follies here.
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra opens its 2009-2010 season with the Texas Instruments Classical Series. The DSO welcomes back Maestro Jaap van Zweden to lead the orchestra. This series pays homage to American composer Samuel Barber with violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg. The opening night will be a magnificent tribute to the late Chorus Director David R. Davidson. Guest soloist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg takes center stage in Barber's technically challenging Violin Concerto. As the evening winds down, the audience will be treated to Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.
The second week of the series features Mahler's Symphony No. 1 and the world premiere of Christopher Theofanidis' Cello Concerto, with cellist Nina Kotova.
