Connemara Conservancy introduces Family Nature Club series
The Connemara Conservancy is partnering with "Nature Rocks" to encourage families to spend more time outdoors through a new Family Nature Club event series. “Nature Rocks” is a national campaign designed to inspire and empower parents and children to reconnect with nature.
The Family Nature Club consists of guided walks for children and families through the Connemara Conservancy Meadow Preserve. Nature guides will accompany all groups and provide assistance and information throughout the two-hour walk.
“Today’s children are spending less time outdoors than ever before,” said Luanne Samuel, executive director of Connemara Conservancy. “Our goal is to bring kids back to nature by letting them explore and interact outdoors in a safe, family-friendly atmosphere. It’s a place where parents can de-stress and children can explore and enjoy the many habitats within Connemara.”
Walks are 2 – 4 p.m. on the following Sundays: September 27, October 11, October 25, November 8, November 22, and December 13. Though there is no fee to participate, suggested donations are $10 per family.
