Coppell's Oak Fest celebration (kind of like a harvest festival without the blatant paganism) reportedly drew big crowds last year, and city administrators are expecting the same this go-round.

With its hot air balloon rides, laser light show (after dark, natch) and the music of Emerald City Band, attendees at Andy Brown Park East are sure to find something diverting and fun to stimulate their leisure-time, weekend, fall-themed interest.

No paganism, please!

Oak Fest is set for Saturday, Oct. 17 from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m., with additional activities and features to include crafts, a climbing wall, bounce houses, face painting, clowns, balloon artists, and Home Depot tile art. Food items to be made available from vendors include kettle corn, roasted corn on the cob, funnel cakes, and all sorts of other incredible edibles (and drinkables!).
