Eco-brand hotel Element is set to open in Irving September 21
IRVING A new Element hotel, Element Dallas Fort Worth Airport North, opens in Irving on Monday.
Starwood’s green trailblazer, Element is the first major hotel brand to mandate that all its properties pursue the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification. Element is currently open in Lexington, MA (just awarded LEED Gold); Summerlin, NV; Hanover, MD, and Houston, with more than 20 properties slated to open across the United States and Canada over the next two years.
Each Element Hotel is designed to promote a healthy, well-balanced, green lifestyle without compromising comfort, quality, convenience or price. Green features are cleverly designed to be as aesthetically appealing as they are eco-friendly, so guests never compromise on style and comfort. Green from the ground up, guest rooms feature carpets with up to 100 percent recycled content, wall art is mounted on bases made from recycled tires and low VOC paints improve indoor air quality.
Element conserves water and energy with low-flow faucets and fixtures, compact fluorescent light bulbs, and energy-efficient appliances. Guests can continue daily routines such as recycling papers and plastics, as well as using green materials, while those driving hybrid cars will be rewarded with priority parking. Even the ubiquitous “Do Not Disturb” sign has been replaced with an environmentally-friendly magnet.
