— This was the final meeting between FC Dallas and the Kansas City Wizards in regular season play. Dallas ties the 2009 season series with this 3-2 loss and the 6-0 win back on August 1st.

Dallas is now 16-18-8 all time against Kansas City and 6-10-5 on the road versus the Wizards. This was the ninth road loss for Dallas this season.

FC Dallas Head Coach Schellas Hyndman said, “I thought it was a really good game for both teams. It was a high-energy game. A lot was at stake. We got scored on early and then we were able to come back. In the second half, I thought we earned that second goal but a breakdown in concentration allowed them to get back in the game. Kansas City is a difficult place to play, and there was a lot riding on the game.”

Other notes:

Cunningham scored his 13th goal of the season and 117th of his career tonight. His goal moves Cunningham one goal behind Conor Casey for the lead in the Budweiser Golden Boot.

• Cunningham’s goal adds to his current streak of consecutive games with a goal to three.

• Dax McCarty scored his third goal of the season in tonight’s match. All three goals have occurred in the last four games for Dallas.

• McCarty’s goal gives him two consecutive games with a goal.

New acquisition Heath Pearce made his first appearance for FC Dallas when he came on for Dave van den Bergh in the 62nd minute.
