Vineyards Campground in Grapevine to host open house
The public is invited to visit The Vineyards Campground on Grapevine Lake Sunday, Sept. 27 from 1-5 p.m. during the annual fall Open House. Located at 1501 N. Dooley on the northeast side of Grapevine, the campground staff will be serving complimentary hot dogs and refreshments all afternoon at the Pavilion. The grounds and cabins will be open for tours, and kayaks are available to try out in Grapevine Lake.
“We’d love to show everyone around the campground this weekend and let them see how much fun camping can be for their families,” shares Joe Moore, assistant director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Grapevine. This year, The Vineyards was named the "Best Campground in Texas" by Texas Association of Campground Owners in the medium-sized category. “One of the reasons this destination was chosen for the award,” shares Schaeffer, “is because they earned A+ ratings (4.9) for service quality through our industry’s guest satisfaction surveys.”

Great place to learn to kayak! It's so easy...you can call ahead and rent kayaks for a couple of hours or all day. Susan and I go out early in the mornings, and highly recommend it...you can row by the blue herons nesting along the shore line, see the sail boats from the marina next door going out on Grapevine Lake, and glide peacefully between ducks and geese. Plus it's wonderful to be out of the gym and outdoors in the fresh air to exercise. Folks at The Vineyards Campgrounds are really nice, helpful and pretty fun! Go...you'll be delighted to see how nice and clean the campground is too. bt

Hey DFW Residents! This is a WONDERFUL place to stay close to home...the perfect place to get away for the weekend yet it allows you to be close enough to all the places you need to attend over the weekend like the kiddos games and church. You WILL be refreshed after time here and NO long drive!
