Mid-Cities Democrats to honor former Speaker Jim Wright
Populist author, speaker, and former Texas Agriculture Commissioner Jim Hightower has signed on to lead the 2009 North Texas Salute to Jim Wright, a reminiscence program featuring speaker Jim Wright, Saturday, October 10.
The Mid-Cities Democrats created the biennial Jim Wright Dinner in 2007 to honor Wright's three decades of service to Tarrant County and to the country. The event is a fundraiser for the Mid-Cities Democrats and the Tarrant County Democratic Party, and a portion of the proceeds will go to a student attending Tarrant County College - Northeast, the school chosen by Wright himself.
The dinner will be held at Trinity Terrace in Fort Worth, Saturday, October 10 from 6:30-9 p.m. with a VIP reception preceding at 5:30 p.m. (VIP tickets are available by becoming a member of the Host Committee. For more information about the Host Committee, please call 817-798-5242.)
Reservations are required and tickets are $50 each before October 1 and $65 after. Tickets may be reserved by calling 817-798-5242. Attendees may pay for tickets online or by mailing a check to the Tarrant County Democratic Party, 3004 W. Lancaster, Fort Worth 76107.
