Tarrant County confirms first swine flu death in county
FORT WORTH Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) released today that laboratory testing has confirmed that the school-aged child who died Sunday had the H1N1 influenza virus. This is the first H1N1-related death in Tarrant County.
TCPH continues to aggressively monitor the incidence of seasonal and H1N1 flu in the community. They will continue to communicate with the medical advisory committee established earlier this year and other partners in the medical and public health community.
“On behalf of Tarrant County Public Health, I want to express our deepest sympathies to the family,” said TCPH Medical Director/Health Authority Dr. Sandra Parker.
For additional information about the flu, check the Tarrant County Public Health website.
